Software Architect

We are seeking an experienced developer to fill the role of software architect for our Item Picking software. You will join a team of robot engineers (developers) to further develop our Item Picking solution. You will be responsible for the technical decisions of new and existing software components and will take control of quality assurance in the form of software testing. Additionally, as a software architect, you will join the organization architects in drawing up and further developing guidelines with regards to software development and testing within the organization.

Additional tasks within this role:

  • Defining the software-architecture of new and existing components of our Item Picking software.
  • Advising stakeholders with regards to the software and the technical choices that follow from it.
  • Drawing up and documenting software-requirements and communicating them with a development team.
  • Translating concepts and ideas from stakeholders to concrete software solutions.
  • Mapping the structure of new and existing software systems and making this information available to developers and the rest of the organization.
  • Improving quality assurance practices in the field and with continuous integration.
  • Drawing up, testing, and further developing guidelines and procedures for software development and testing for the whole organization.
  • Don’t be afraid to get your hands dirty to help teams implement complicated features.

Who are we looking for?

  • Bachelor or Master in a relevant study area (e.g. Software Engineering, Computer Science)
  • 5 years of hands-on software development experience
  • Strong technical skills among which knowledge of software design patterns
  • Strong leadership abilities
  • Experience with quality assurance and testing
  • Experience with distributed systems is an advantage
  • Experience with software design that interacts with hardware
  • Strong communication skills (verbally and written)
